Like many modern love stories, ours technically started with a swipe. At the time, Ambar was living in Tulum, Mexico and Alejandro had just moved from the port city of Veracruz to San Luis Potosí. For a year, life had other plans and we simply talked from afar—our daily rhythm becoming a steady stream of morning hellos and goodnight messages spanning photography, travel, and our wildest dreams.

Then, fate stepped in. While Ambar was on a solo road trip through Mexico, Alejandro sent a casual message asking what she was doing. She replied that she was somewhere in San Luis Potosí—only to find out she was driving exactly five minutes away from where he stood. She pulled into a gym parking lot, picked him up in his sweaty workout clothes, and instead of continuing the road trip alone, we took a detour together. Our very first date became a spontaneous, three-day adventure to Peña de Bernal, and we’ve been partners in life and art ever since.

We believe a wedding is a breathing history. Over the past 12+ years of preserving these stories across Texas, Mexico, and beyond, our imagery has been preserved on the front covers and pages of leading publications like The Knot Magazine and Brides of Austin. Globally, our dedication to the craft has been recognized by Junebug Weddings—honoring us as one of the top 10 wedding photographers in Mexico.

My life is a soulful blend of southern roots and barefoot living. Growing up grounded in the Texas outdoors—bow hunting, fishing, and learning the rhythms of nature—shaped the way I see the world today. What once taught me patience and survival has evolved into a deep reverence for the natural world and a signature, intentional eye behind the lens.

In 2014, I followed my calling to Mexico, falling in love with its vibrant culture and hidden, sacred corners. Today, I am a proud momma to three world-schooled children and wife to my twin flame, Alejandro. Together, our balance is our power—both in life and behind the camera.

For over a decade, I’ve documented weddings by using light as my language. I am endlessly chasing the way sunlight filters through architecture, the drama of shadows, and the raw human connection that quietly unfolds in between.

Texas will always be in my roots.
Mexico is where I learned to wander.
And somewhere between the two, I found my way of seeing.

Blame it all on my Roots...

Originally from Veracruz, my roots are planted deeply in the rhythm of the ocean, family, and community.

My childhood was spent running through the streets with a fútbol, playing on the beach until the sun disappeared, and coming home to a house overflowing with music, laughter, and long family dinners. Those early years taught me a simple truth: life is entirely about connection.

Today, I carry that same spirit into our life in the jungle. My wife calls me the nurturer of our family—to me, food is life. I am happiest when cooking for the people I love, hosting friends around the pool on a Sunday, or unwinding with a movie night.

Behind the scenes, editing photographs is a natural extension of how I see the world. I am fascinated by the quiet drama of light—the beams cutting through jungle trees or smoke catching a stray sunbeam. Editing weddings is simply artistically tuning memories that matter most: people coming together to celebrate love, family, and a brand new story.

Long before the Mexican jungle fully claimed us—before the dreadlocks, the off-grid living, and building our self-sustainable home on virgin jungle acreage—Texas was the vast, open landscape we returned to as our sanctuary. These archival portraits belong to that raw, foundational season of our history, captured during a quiet golden hour in a wild Texas Hill Country field. Looking back at these frames, we see the beautiful, unhurried bridge between our two worlds: the strength of our early partnership, the roots of our signature Earth + Light aesthetic, and the very first chapters of a legacy we were preparing to build together.
